From Sara Correia’s amazing concert on Saturday, sketched in my Etchr mini sketchbook. Sara is leading the charge for the next generation of Fadistas, and is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to raw vocal output. Check her out wherever you get your music! Chelos (where she grew up in Lisbon) and Respirar are two of my faves.
Trying to distill the energy, good vibes and massive talent of the amazing Urban Sketchers crowd is tricky but I gave it my best shot. And I didn’t even include the UK/France game, which I had to scream at surreptitiously during our final draw-off…
More Kung Fu comics pages, this time with a looser style to try and express some of the dynamic movement from the first fights to feature in the comic. As close to a superhero comic as I’ll probably ever get, given the foreshortened punches in the last panel. It should give you a good sense of my process for every page: from thumbnails (which serve as a guide for the layouts) to pencils to inks. All by hand, no AI! I like drawing two pages at a time to get a better sense of how spreads will sit together.
This one’s a freebie to give you a sense of what you’d get with a monthly membership: remember every little helps with keeping this cartoonist caffeinated and feeling like there’s an audience out there willing to pay a little something for art.
