Next page from my strip on the Chilean Coup of 1973, and the shadowy US involvement behind the scenes. This introduction takes places at the Chicago School of Economics, where budding Chilean economists were brought from the mid-50s onwards to be influenced by Milton Friedman’s passionate enthusiasm of the free market and laissez-faire capitalism.
I’ve just got back from San Fran’s APE con, where I headed up the CCS table and co-chaired a colour workshop, as well as touting What a Whopper and my latest project – a longer version of the 3page Bash piece I did on the 1973 Chilean Coup. Apologies for the delay in serving up the next instalment to you, dear reader – the second year of CCS has kicked in now, as well as pre-promo work for San Fran’s Alternative Press Expo, which I’m doing the flyer for (I’ll post the mockup forthwith).
Other big news is that the Comite de Defensa del/a Trabajador@/Worker Defense Committee in Seattle, Washington want to translate my What A Whopper Comic into Spanish, as part of their Spanish-language radical lending library. They’re a worker-led organization working to develop a community of day laborers in Seattle empowered to stand up for the rights of their compañeros through public campaigns against bad bosses and unjust systems.
